Lindseys Webite

WOW!!!! I was kinda shocked at first this cute girl is a hunter. Thats awesome though we need more women doing that kind of thing anyways. I didn't see any mistakes at all. I really like how each link you provided in depth background of the animal. GREAT JOB!!!!!

Jennifer Scott's Website

I really liked this site. I like the way Jennifer had each link to relate to the steps. The pictures to go along with the steps were nice too. Not only that it's almost that time to go swimming which means SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE. I would have never thought to do a how to website, and I always wondered how they put up those things. I was suprised that it is actually a process. I saw no mistakes. :-)

I Pod

Technologies have come a very long way. It's amazing to see cell used to be the size of walkie talkies, pagers and beepers, and especially computers. I remember as a little girl my dad always had a computer (he worked on them), but I didn't know a lot of people that did. Now it's very uncommon to NOT have a computer. Now we have come to the world of IPODS!!!! Ipod hold a lot of memory and you can see a lot of people on campus who have one.

I think ipods are great. I download all the music and pictures I want. I know some people who have full length movies on theirs. I think it would have great educational purposes. It would be great if the ipod could record a teachers lecture, and information could be sent between each others ipods. I love the audio book feature. So if there is a class reading assignment the whole class can get the book reading done in a good time. Teachers can also benefit from the use use of Ipods too. Below is a link to one that can help teachers.

Spread Sheets

I think spreadsheets are great for many things. Excel has endless possibles when it comes to making spreadsheets. It can help students organize information and visually see it. Graphs can be made from spreadsheets which becomes useful. Patterns can be seen and calculations can be made.

It would be great to even print out blank spread sheets and give them to each student. As a class they can all be filled out. It's easier for me to understand concepts if I write them down myself. It makes it easier to grasp and call. If a student needs to refer to their sheet they can. :)

Mardi Gras!!!!

I've lived here in Mobile for about 4 years and I finally decided to go downtown for Mardi Gras. It was my very first time and it entertaining. Although I'm 4'10 and couldn't catch anything my boyfriend Steven got me a couple beads!!!!

International Blogging

Genki Japanese and Cultural School

Genki Japanese and Cultural School is a very strange blog to me. It doesn't seem to be a school that I would think of. There are a few posts that mention anything about the school. It seems like it talks more about news. One blog that stuck out was that public bathrooms in Japan cannot be used by anyone with tattoos! How strange. I think this is more of information blog as opposed to a actual student/school blog.

Mrs. Cassidy's Class

I love this class blog website. It's very colorful and fun! It's has many links that can be very helpful for the parents and students. It provides links that can help the students practice their skills. In the link for the class blog each student has their own blog and they post pretty frequently. Mrs. Cassidy seems to be a great teacher and seems fun! She obviously loves what she does, and does a great job doing it. This is the best use of blogs for a school that I have seen thus far. This was my favorite blog website.

Classroom Blogging in the United States

Mr. Ahlness Third Grade Class

In Seattle, Washington Mr. Ahlness is a third grade teacher at Arbor Heights Elementary. I can tell by his posts he is an enthusiastic teacher and loves his job. In pretty much every post I see there are lots of words of encouragement. On this classroom blog there are pictures of the class, children, and even field trips. I love of He entitled the blog the Mighty Writers. If a student's name is mentioned in his post there is a link to that particular students blog, and that's really neat. He students blog are well written and they seem smart. Mr. Ahlness using his classroom blog for great educational purposes.

Welcome to East Central Elementary Blogging Headquarters

Although, the East Central Elementary School isn't filled with pictures or lots of color I though this would be a good school to choose. This isn't a classroom blog, but a school blog meant for teachers. It contains various links to science fair project ideas, field trips and other neat websites. This is a great way for teachers to communicate with each other and share ideas that can help in the class room. I think that's a great idea. Being a teacher is not a easy job, but to be able to have others help you is a great resource to make the classroom the best it can be. When I teach I would like to have a blog meant for all the teachers. It would be beneficial to all.

YAY!!!!

YAY i got my comments to work!!!!

Blog Entry #1 : Reflection on Blogging

WARNING: Information in the BLOG is very blunt so FYI don't get offended.

Blogging is still really confusing to me. It's really hard for me to understand. I still can't get my comments to show or anything. I've had Sarah Welhms try to help me, but under settings I had the exact same as hers. This is frustrating. To me I feel like blogs are like diaries, and to me they are supposed to be private. I've always hated those online journal websites. They drove me insane! Especially when people would write long sad entries to make people feel sorry for them. I feel like journals, blogs, and myspace are all in this virtual world, and it's crazy! A person that you meet on the net may seem outgoing, but in person they are so shy. It seems like these types of things people use to get noticed.

I really hope my perception of this blogging thing changes, because I'm try to see the benefits of it. It's kind of hard when Myspace has blogs as well, and there are 15 year old girls trying to look attractive for older guys. It's scary these 15 year old girls could be talking to 30 year old perverts. There are so many stories in the news about young girls meeting older guys from sites like myspace. (Sorry it was nice to get that off my chest.)

I don't think blogs would beneficial in the elementary, and middle school classrooms. At that age their maturity level just doesn't seem up to par. I can see where it would be more useful in high school, and college. Some positive aspects would be the easy access to blogging. It's 9:00 pm and I'm doing my homework. It allows users to have easy access to information, because it's just a click away. It can allow blog users of a certain class to communicate, and share ideas that they might be shy to say in class. With positive comes the negative. Online assignments or blogs can make a person lazy about doing their work. Whether they wait until last minute, or read someone else's work, and repeat what they say. I feel that with blogs it might not be the person typing. It could be a really smart sibling, friend, or even parent. It would be better to have students share their ideas in person, and not just through online discussions.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!

I am the BIG 2 - 0 today!!!! I'm not really doing anything exciting because #1 I'm in school and #2 I have to work tommorow morning. :-( Boo.... Oh well, my boyfriend gave me the CHI!!!! The Chi is like the best straightener in the world. I mean it is the cream of the crop when it comes to a hair tool. It's pretty expensive. (anywhere from $100-150)) I know pretty ridiculus, but it's okay because I didn't pay for it. :) So hopefully this is another great year and hopefully my spring semester goes well.
